: Walking the path of the people of Truth is adhering to the Straight Path, holding tight to the Book and the Sunnah, and remaining around the scholars who educate people in minor matters of knowledge before major matters. A Muslim should also devote himself to worshipping Allaah, as worship at times of trials, civil strife and killing is like emigrating to the Prophet ﷺ, as mentioned in the authentic hadeeth,
“Worship during times of killing is like emigration to me.” (Muslim 2947)
It is reported in the Books of Sunnahs that adhering to the Sunnah in times of trials merits the reward of 50. The companions asked, “50 of us or of the people then?” The Prophet ﷺ replied,
“50 of you!” (Abu Daawood 4341)
This reward is tremendous. It is, thus, an obligation upon each person to preserve himself, to restrain his tongue, to resort to worship, and to hold fast to the Book and the Sunnah while remaining upon the Straight Path and to be in the presence of scholars who educate people in minor matters of knowledge before the major ones.
