Question
I have income from prohibited means. I have now repented to Allaah, so what should I do with this prohibited income?
Answer
Whoever repents to Allaah, Allaah will accept that from him, and repentance destroys whatever sin came before it. He must get rid of this wealth. Thus, if he has friends, and the wealth was stolen or taken by force, then he should give the wealth back to them. If it was wealth earned from prohibited forms of contracts or negotiations, he should get rid of it with the intention of keeping away from it, and not with the intention of drawing close to Allaah, because Allaah is pure, and He only accepts that which is pure.
