We have to memorize Soorah Al-Faatihah accurately and recite it because if it is mislearned, the error will persist and it is difficult to be rid of it in the future. Thus, it is necessary to be learned orally correctly with its elongations, germination and all its diacritics, in order for the recitation is appropriate and correct, and because some errors which change the meaning makes the prayer invalid. If a person recites in his prayer, ssiraatta-llatheena an’amtu ‘alayhim (the Path of those whom I have blessed), with the u in an’amtu for the connected pronoun, the prayer becomes invalid. Thus, it is upon the mosque Imaams and students of knowledge to follow up teaching the common Muslims orally, this Soorah, and encouraging them to learn it. With all Praise be to Allaah, homes today are full of those who recite the Qur’aan, of males and females, young and old, in addition to the many and abundant circles of memorization, in every neighborhood. Hence, no person has an excuse in to reciting and learning Al-Faatihah well. Also, it is no issue nor shame for any person, old or young, to sit with another person to teach them the Qur’aan. It is reported in the authentic hadeeth,
“The best among you is the one who learns the Qur’aan and teaches it!” (Bukhaary 5027)
